The Miracle MarathonThe Miracle Marathon is poised to be Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' Signature Event. It's a 27-day virtual fundraising campaign in which participants run/walk (or achieve forward motion) one mile per day at their leisure – about 20 minutes each day. During the marathon, CMN Hospitals will send daily challenges or motivational messages with the goal of building an interactive, online community of participants.
The first 26 days are completed at the participant's own leisure—at a time and place of their own choosing. On the final day, October 27, we will finish the final 1.2 miles of Miracle Marathon "virtually" together, at 2:27pm EST. Regardless of location, participants will complete the final stretch all at the same time. That will complete the 27.2 mile “Miracle Marathon” – it’s a marathon, plus an extra mile “for the kids.”

Why Are Credit Unions Involved?Credit Unions have a long history of working with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through our movement's national charity of choice - Credit Unions for Kids. When the Association learned that Denver would be a test market for this event and was asked by Children's Hospital Colorado to be a key sponsor, it just felt like a natural fit. Credit Unions get the opportunity to demonstrate service to their members and put our philosophy of People Helping People into action, all the while connecting with a well known and well respected cause. It's an opportunity to share the Credit Union story to a wider audience while we do great work for the children in our communities.
Beginning our sponsorship now means that Mountain West Credit Unions have the opportunity to develop a long-lasting relationship as the signature sponsor for this event. As the Miracle Marathon expands to other states in the Mountain West region, Credit Unions will be linked to this cause from the beginning.
How Can Credit Unions Participate?The Miracle Marathon has been sponsored on behalf of Credit Unions through a donation from the Mountain West Credit Union Foundation. All you need to do is join in! Who is Credit Unions Across Colorado?Credit Unions Across Colorado is YOU! In order to connect this event in a meaningful way to Credit Unions as a signature sponsor, we needed an easy identity to serve as an anchor and represent all Credit Unions. The Credit Unions Across Colorado name emphasizes that credit unions are local and the use of our Association weave communicates interconnectedness and collaboration with Credit Union members, our communities, and each other.
How Will the Miracle Marathon and Credit Unions be Promoted?Alice 105.9 and KOSI 101 are the media partners for the Miracle Marathon. The event will be heavily promoted on these stations beginning September 16th through the end of the event. The campaign includes over 80 radio spots along with on-air sponsorship mentions, web promotions, email blasts, social media segments, and YOU. Alongside the media campaign, Credit Unions will lead a grassroots effort to spread the word about the Miracle Marathon to their members and communities. We have plenty of resources to help you.
