Yuma, AZ, November 3, 2016 – The employees of AEA Federal Credit Union recently donated $2,900 to Bridget’s Gift, a local non-profit founded in memory of Yuma native Bridget Martinez that focuses on education, awareness and support for those battling breast cancer in Yuma County.
Employees raised the funds by donating $5 or $10 from their paycheck to the Credit Union’s Jeans Giver Program. In turn, they were able to wear jeans on specific days of the week. At the end of each quarter, employees get to choose which local charity will receive the funds.
“Our goal was to raise $5,000 for the entire year and so far $5,900 has been raised through the Jeans Giver Program, said Adele Sandberg, Executive Vice President. “It’s been so successful that we’re hoping to double our goal by year-end.”
“AEA is truly making a difference in the community through our support of organizations like Bridget’s Gift thanks to the employees who work here,” said Brian Mendivil, President and CEO. “The caring nature of our employees shows in the service they provide our members and how much they give back to the community.”
