3-Year Event Total of $180,000 Benefits Local Cancer Patients & Families

PHOENIX, Ariz. – December 16, 2015 – Arizona Central Credit Union today announced that its fourth annual charity golf outing on November 23rd raised $65,000 to benefit Cancer Support Community Arizona (CSCAZ), formerly known as the Wellness Community.  More than 130 community-minded golfers joined the Credit Union staff and other volunteers at Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale to help raise funds for CSCAZ’s support of area cancer patients and their families. The total raised this year was a $10,000 increase over last year’s outing.  This is the third year Arizona Central Credit Union has designated CSCAZ as beneficiary of the charity golf event.

Arizona Central Credit Union President and CEO, Todd Pearson, will present a check for $65,000 to CSCAZ on Wednesday, December 16 at their Phoenix facility, 360 E Palm Lane. The 2015 proceeds bring the three-year total raised by the Credit Union for CSCAZ to $180,000.

“There are few of us today who don’t know of someone who is now battling or has previously struggled to overcome cancer,” said Pearson.  “That’s why we’re so pleased to be able to help this deserving organization fulfill their mission of helping both cancer patients and their families − ensuring no one has to face the disease alone.”

The golf event was supported this year by Title Sponsors: Silvertree Special Needs Planning, Allied Solutions, Fiserv and Digital Insight.  Other generous local sponsors included: Altier Credit Union, Arizona Federal Credit Union, Arizona State Credit Union, Ballard Spahr LLC., Canyon State Credit Union, Colliers, CUNA Mutual, DBSI, Deer Valley Credit Union, Desert Schools Credit Union, Enterprise, First Credit Union, Gust Rosenfeld, IMM, Mountain West Credit Union Association, Pima Federal Credit Union, Solution Interface, SunWest Credit Union, Vantiv and XDI.

According to Pearson, the annual event is one of many activities throughout the year that the Credit Union staff undertakes to help Arizona residents. “We’re committed to delivering on the mission of all credit unions nationally, which is to give back to the communities in which we work and live.”  Based in Phoenix, Arizona Central Credit Union also has branches in Chandler, Flagstaff, Glendale, Phoenix, Show Low, Tempe and Tucson.
