Broomfield CO.—Wyoming-based Warren Federal Credit Union and Community Financial Credit Union, (CFCU) headquartered in Colorado, are pleased to announce that the recently agreed-upon merger of the two organizations will become official on April 1, 2016. The Boards of Directors have chosen to unify the organization under one name, Blue Federal Credit Union.
Both credit unions were established on a foundation of public service. Their ties to the community and their commitment to building lifelong member relationships will remain as cornerstones of Blue.
Warren branches in Cheyenne, Laramie, and Northern Colorado will be re-branded with the new Blue logo beginning in early May. Branches that compose the current network of Community Financial in Broomfield and Boulder will also be updated to reflect the bright, modern look that characterizes Blue Federal Credit Union.
The process of selecting a name that would define the organization was undertaken by executive leaders of both credit unions late in 2015, and included interviews with members and staff, as well as a comprehensive overview of the geographic makeup of the merging credit unions.
Chief Executive Officer, Stephanie Teubner, believes the name connects the two organizations and speaks to their shared history in the West and their commitment to member relationships. “Blue is the unifying color of the two organizations, and was used in each group’s previous logos. To us, it speaks to aspirational thinking, and represents the ascending mountains and endless skies of the places we call home.” As a key leader in the merger agreement, Teubner says it was important that the name, “also captured the confidence and trust our members have placed in us as well as the unwavering optimism we feel as organizations going into the merger.”
The extremely competitive Front Range financial landscape was also a key factor in the naming decision. “As we maintain our strong position in Wyoming and emerge as a leader in Northern Colorado, it’s important for Blue to establish and maintain an iconic presence,” Teubner said.
Our members are the cornerstone of everything we’ve built,” Teubner continued, “and we want Blue to serve as a pillar that signifies a consistency of service and community commitment both credit unions have historically shared.”
She also expressed her excitement about the transformation of the new logo and brand. “Using the shared color as the foundation of our new branding has allowed us to create visual brand elements and signage that will engage members and stand apart from our competitors in the market.”
Warren and CFCU will be releasing additional information to members in the coming months as Blue takes shape. Continue to follow the latest news at www.WarrenFCU.com/merger.
