Employee Development Team Recognized for Vision, Impact of ‘Common Bond’ Training
Tempe, Ariz. – Nov. 4, 2015 – TruWest Credit Union was honored at the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) annual Experience Learning Live! (ELLy) award ceremony for credit union trainers in Las Vegas Oct. 27. The credit union’s Employee Development Department received the CUNA ELLy “Training Champion Award” for its outstanding trainers and programs, as well as the vision, implementation and ultimate employee impact of its “Common Bond” training course.
Designed to educate 100% of TruWest employees on credit union fundamentals, Common Bond was essentially a “back-to-basics” training program. The program goals were to realign the corporate culture; discover or rediscover what it means to work for a cooperative credit union; give employees the knowledge they need to feel invested in the success of TruWest and the credit union movement; and recognize that all employees play a critical role in the implementation of credit union initiatives. Every employee, from the C-suite to entry-level tellers, attended three workshops focusing on different elements of the credit union philosophy.
The Training Champion Award singles out senior management, in this case TruWest President and CEO Dan Desmond, who went to great lengths to cultivate unsurpassed staff development, and increased training success.
Thanks to these individuals for their efforts in becoming the Training Champion of 2015:
