What a Week at the GAC!

Nearly 100 representatives from our three states joined more than 5,500 credit union professionals in Washington, D.C. for CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) Feb. 23-27 . We had a full week of conference activities and sessions. Probably the most important part of our trip was our day on Capitol Hill meeting with our states’ delegations cultivating those relationships. We shared the message of credit unions, told our stories and lobbied for support. Our message included protection of our tax status, modernization of credit union governance standards, advocating support for the SAFE Banking Act, data security and managing the perceptions raised when banks choose to sell assets to credit unions. All in all, it was a successful week and we are grateful for the many members of the Association who prioritize this critical event to engage and share the credit union message.

Wyoming credit union representatives met with Senator John Barrasso.

Arizona credit union representatives met with Rep. Andy Biggs.

Colorado Senator Cory Gardner addressed GAC attendees on the main stage.
