Cheyenne, WY – For all local merchants that accept credit cards for payments, there’s a monumental change taking place in their world effective on October 1, 2015. That’s the date that the liability shift associated with the new EMV chip credit cards takes effect.
To help merchants get through the challenges ahead, Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union is hosting a free seminar titled: “Are you Really Prepared for EMV Chip Credit Cards?” This seminar is open to all businesses and merchants, whether they are members of the credit union or not.
The seminar will be presented by Chris Garza, Territory Manager with TSYS Merchant Solutions, a Top 10 Payment Processor. Chris has 15 years’ experience in the payment acceptance industry with in depth knowledge of Retail, e-Commerce, Virtual terminals as well as PCI Compliance and most recently EMV (EuroPay, MasterCard, and Visa) compliance and regulations that go into effect October 1st.
The seminar will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19th at Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union, East Branch, 4349 E. Lincolnway in Cheyenne.
