Our Foundation and its Board announced that they made the difficult, but necessary, decision to cancel the in-person Star Gala, that was scheduled for October 23 in Phoenix. The Foundation Awards were also postponed until 2021.
As you know, the event is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, and its cancellation caused a significant deficit to the Foundation’s budget. To that end, we reached out to our generous supporters to consider a proposal. In lieu of sponsorships and ticket sales, we thoughtfully asked credit unions to consider making a donation to the Foundation in the amount they would have budgeted for Gala. We are sincerely saddened about this cancellation, but under these extraordinary circumstances, we felt it was in everyone’s best interest to practice caution.
