The Center for Credit Union Leadership’s Mentor Program connects emerging credit union leaders with mentors to help new leaders’ assess and develop their leadership philosophy through face-to face-meetings and a structured Leadership Development Plan. The process, provided by the Center, examines the candidate’s values, assumptions, and beliefs to create developmental goals for the mentor to guide the candidate towards.

Being a mentor doesn’t just allow you to give back by helping others, which has its own rewards. Mentoring is a great way to sharpen and hone your own skills through teaching. It enhances your leadership skills and, according to a Sun Microsystems study, mentors are 20% more likely to get a raise and SIX times more likely to get promoted.
The Center’s Leadership Mentor Program Makes It Easy
If you are ready to share your skills and experience, the Center for Credit Union Leadership will take care of the rest. Mentors will be trained in a set of tools and exercises developed for this program that will guide candidates in creating a Leadership Development Plan. Your skills and experience will bring life to the program and provide insight that the candidate couldn’t get anywhere else. Plus, as a thank you, you will receive a $200 stipend each quarter you work to develop these new leaders.
