Yuma, AZ, April 19, 2017 – The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHL Bank San Francisco) recently awarded AEA Federal Credit Union a total of $250,000 in matching grant funds for first-time home buyers in Yuma County.
The funds are part of the 2017 Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership (WISH) Program which offers eligible low- and moderate-income households 3-to-1 matching grants up to $15,000 for the purchase of a home. The program targets workings families and individuals ready to transition from renting to owning. Funds can be applied to the down payment or closing costs of a home purchase.
“AEA is the only participant of the WISH program in Yuma County,” said Brian Mendivil, President and CEO at AEA Federal Credit Union. “We’re excited to be able to help ease the journey of homeownership through this program for many of our members in the community.”
AEA Federal Credit Union will work closely with local realtors and the Housing Authority of the City of Yuma (HACY) reaching out to eligible families. Anyone interested in learning more about the program can call AEA Federal Credit Union Mortgage Department at 928.783.8881.
